Everyone is organized into numbered group and also grouped in to teams of two. As shown below, Angus and Ballantyne form one team while Biggs and Bischoff form the other team. Milestones 1, 2, and 3 will be completed as teams (only one hand-in/pass-off per team for Milestones 1-3). Milestones 4 and 5 will be completed as groups (only one pass-off, hand-in, or video per group for Milestones 4 and 5).

**Creative Project:**The first thing we want to do is program a game mode setting. There will be three different games. Wack-a-mole, Zombies, and Survival. 

In wack-a-mole the players will randomly turn into moles. When a player is a mole then they will be unable to shoot for a random amount of time so that they will have to employ strict avoidance tactics. The rest of the players who aren’t moles will still be able to shoot and be shot. There can be multiple moles at any given time. 

In Zombies one player will start as a zombie and all other players will begin at the other frequencies. When a player gets shot by a zombie their frequency gets changed to the zombie’s frequency. They player that becomes a zombie will have about a 10 second delay before they can begin shooting other players. 

Survival mode is just the classic laser tag game where a player goes out after a certain amount of shots. But we add that we can adjust how many shots are needed to be shot out. 

The second thing we want to do is 3D print an iron man glove. We will use an Arduino micro to program it. There will be LED’s in the palm that will be capable of working like the gun. And the glove will turn on when we bend our wrist. I think we will also program the glove to require a “recharge” before it can shoot again. \\

**Creative Project:** We propose adding bluetooth spawn beacons with associated team game modes. These spawn beacons will be implemented with Arduinos that have bluetooth modules similar to the modules on the Zybo board. Each player's Zybo board will scan for a specific bluetooth name, and if found, will give the player a new life. The life/death feature will be done using a state machine that has a hit and life count. Proximity to the beacon will reset the hit count and life count.\\

**Creative Project:** We will construct a small motion-sensing, rotating turret with a touchscreen interface that will have Simon on it. The player must beat a certain number of levels in Simon in order to unlock the frequency control and claim the turret for his team.\\

**Creative Project:** 
Our idea is to make the game play a little more interesting by implementing health. After a certain number of hits a player will die. Also, there will be a special player on each team who is a healer. When a hit is received from that player’s frequency, your health will be restored. That is our proposal.
If we finish that we are thinking of adding more special features like machine gun mode or taking more damage when a hit is from a closer distance (higher power

The group came up with some additional ideas. They liked the idea of building off of our original idea and creating more "character classes" that have special behaviors, such as a berserker that can only hit at closer range (the power has to be above a higher threshold) but when it does hit, it deals twice as much damage. They also liked the idea of adding sound effects when we shoot or get shot.

**Creative Project:** As a group we collaborated and came up with the idea of implementing a zombies vs humans game. In our implementation, there would be 2 teams, a team of humans and a team of zombies. Both teams would be equal in size, but it wouldn’t matter the number of players, it just has to be even. The game then would continue that each team would have its own frequency, one for humans and one for zombies. When the game begins you are trying to shoot the opposing teams players, to convert them into your own team’s players. Once you have shot an opposing player, they are now a member of your team and they change over to your team’s frequency.  The object of the game is to convert all the other team’s players into what you are, or into your frequency. Once everyone is the same frequency, the game is over and whoever started out at that frequency wins. \\

**Creative Project:** For the creative portion of our project we want to make a new "viral" game mode.  In this game mode every player has their own frequency and it is every man for himself.  As soon as someone is shot, their frequency changes to be the frequency of their shooter.  Teams grow and shrink as team members convert others to the team frequency.  The game ends when everyone is on the same frequency meaning that the original player with that frequency is the winner.\\

**Creative Project:**We want to implement having ammunition and an ammunition recharge station. Our rough draft idea is to have a display showing the amount of ammunition that the player currently has. We also would be building a station that would recharge the amount of ammunition. To recharge, our idea is to have the station shoot the gun with a certain frequency that would reset the ammunition to a predetermined amount. We would want to design it in such a way that it could be extendable to add more stations. Using a 7-segment display for ammunition.\\

**Creative Project:** First, we would like to implement a game play option in which the players have a certain amount of hits they can receive before they 'die' or are kicked out of the game and no longer play. In this playing mode we would implement a sound to signal when a player has 'died' or received the max number of hits. Second, during the game play we would add sounds to the gun firing and also corresponding sounds to when a hit is detected on the system.\\

**Creative Project:** The "score board" will give added functionality to the hit array used in shooter mode. It will let each player know not only who shot them, but who they have shot. The main reason I wanted to implement this is so that you know when you have shot somebody and which player that is. I want to add sound effects for certain situations in the game, such as shooting multiple opponents in a row without getting shot (having a speaker say "double kill"), or getting an "avenge shot" by shooting the player who last shot you.

**Creative Project:** Our primary project is the LED grenade. We will use an AVR microcontroller to generate the player frequencies and activate 8-10 bright red LEDs mounted on a ball (the same LEDs used in the gun). Both will be powered from a single 9 volt battery. As a secondary project, we will implement a freeze tag game mode. Players will be divided into two teams, with all players on a team using the same frequency. Once shot by an opponent, a player will not be able to use their gun to shoot until they are shot by a team member. We expect to be able to complete this before the end of March.

If time permits, we would like to also implement an audio grenade. This would have speakers mounted on the grenade that generate a fixed pattern of 4 frequencies. For example, the speaker might generate a signal with frequency components at 440 Hz, 1.5 kHz, and 9 kHz. This grenade would also be controlled by an AVR microcontroller. On the Zybo board, we will obtain the raw audio input over I2C from the audio codec and use the Goertzel algorithm to determine the signal power at each of the grenade's frequencies. If all frequency components are present, the board will record a 'shot' from the grenade.

The FPGA idea is much more tentative. Since the Zynq chip on the Zybo board has both an ARM core and an FPGA (the "Programmable Logic" subsystem), we are investigating the possibility of creating IP in VHDL that implements the FIR filter and the 10 IIR filters. This system would directly control the ADC to read the output from the receiver board and would communicate with the ARM core over the AXI bus. Ideally, it would output only the ten power values for the player frequencies, offloading nearly all computation from the processor. \\

**Creative Project:** We would like to use the bluetooth radio to detect when other players are nearby based on scanning for other bluetooth devices. When a device with enough signal strength is detected, it would alert the player, either through sound or a vibrator. This would involve creating a good way of identifying which bluetooth devices are laser tag systems, and it also depends on being able to read signal strength using the bluetooth radio. If it turns out to be too complicated to accomplish this with the adafruit bluetooth board, we could instead write a phone app to do the same thing.\\

**Creative Project:We propose, for M5, to utilize the board's BluetoothLE chips. With Bluetooth we will connect to an App that will then connect to a Server, connecting all players. The apps and server will keep track of player score, it will also allow the players to register their own "Hit Notification" sound. This sound will play on the other's devices when they are hit.** \\
